MEG-40 is an emulsifying and diluting agent made from long-chain saturated fatty acids. It is soluble in mineral oils when heated, as well as in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether, and acetone. It can be used in the pharmaceutical industry in the formulation of different products (creams, oils and waxes), in the food industry it is used as an emulsifying agent, thickener, anti-caking agent, preservative.In PVC it is an excellent internal lubricant that reduces viscosity and promotes flow, without affecting transparency.
Storage
It is recommended that MEG-40 be stored in its original, tightly sealed container in a dry, covered area away from light at room temperature of 25°C ± 3°C. Avoid overheating or freezing. Chemical handling areas should be well-ventilated, with quick access to emergency showers and eyewash stations.
The safety data sheet for handling this material is available upon request. Prolonged skin contact may cause irritation. Those handling this product should wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Exposed body parts should be washed with soap and water.
