Getting it is only the beginning, because then you have to maintain the output, the finish, and the cost of the compound run after run—and for that, none of the minor additives that support the formula can be missing.

Injection molding subjects the compound to very high shear in short times: it requires a lower molecular weight resin and a stabilizer that can withstand that process.

Common problems in PVC pipes and how to fix them

The same stabilizer is not suitable for both pipes and fittings.

High-efficiency reverse-ester tin performs excellently in extrusion, but It degrades under the shear stress of fitting injection. Recommendation: Reserve RT-937 for extrusion and use RT-198 for injection molding of connections.

Convert from lead or tin reverse-ester to Calcium-Zinc without "breaking" the line.

Ca/Zn lubricates in a comparable way, does not stain with sulfur and does not transfer odor to the finished product; in addition, there is a growing trend towards CaZn due to the rise in the price of tin. Recommendation: The migration is done with a one-pack package, readjusting the external lubrication. We'll guide you through the conversion.

Stabilizer cost vs. compliance.

Modern tin reverse-esters perform all the stabilization with very low doses. Recommendation: Do not over-dose "for safety"; rate the minimum dose that passes aging and NSF.

Rigid parts injected with carbon deposits or bursts of degradation despite correct tin dosage.

Recommendation: The problem usually lies in the flow rate and melt temperature, not the dosage. We help you diagnose process and lubrication adjustments.

Gray line in extrusion despite good thermal stability.

Recommendation: It's a surface defect related to the lubrication system; it can be resolved by rebalancing it. Contact us for a tune-up.
