In knife-cut textile coating, most defects do not come from "poor quality" of the additive, but from how each ingredient interacts with the rheology of the paste. These are the situations we see most frequently:
Switching between two plasticizers that appear equivalent—for example, DOP and DOTP—alters how the paste fuses and adheres to the rolls. It's not a problem with one product or the other; it's that the paste is calibrated for a specific rheology. When changing stabilizers, pinholes may appear: gases that are trapped in the paste and do not escape during melting.
