Development / Applications

DOP is a plasticizer used in PVC compounds and other polymers such as SBR. Its use is geared towards industrial applications without specific regulatory restrictions on DOP: footwear, plastic laminates and fabrics, plastisols, sealants, industrial profiles, technical hoses, industrial films, cable coatings, and automotive accessories, among others. It is NOT recommended for toys, childcare products, food contact, or medical applications—in these industries, DOTP or TOTM should be used instead. It serves to solvate PVC and thus provide flexibility to finished products. It is one of the most common plasticizers in the PVC industry and is preferred for its ease of handling and easy absorption during the mixing process.

Storage

This product should be stored at normal room temperature. Once opened, the packaging should be tightly resealed.

Handling

Safety data sheets for this material are available upon request. Prolonged skin contact may cause irritation. Those handling this product should wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Exposed skin should be washed with soap and water.
