In potable water piping, NSF 14 certification is not just a catalog ornament: it's the gateway. Getting it is only the beginning, because then you have to maintain the output, the finish, and the cost of the compound run after run—and for that, none of the minor additives that support the formula can be missing.
At Chemical Additives, we maintain a warehouse in Mexico stocked with critical additives for rigid pipe compounds: CaZn one-pack packages (UA-1199 MX WT, LC-8228M), reverse-ester tin stabilizers (RT-9172, RT-937), injected fitting tin (RT-198), and NSF and PPI compliant waxes/lubrication packages, ready for shipment in partial lots.
We operate under two models: deliveries in less than container loads when your operation justifies it, and full container loads at a preferential rate. We maintain stock and deliver when your schedule requires it—including the NSF documentation your end customer demands.
Drainage, potable water, and pressure. NSF certification and an efficient stabilizing package define cost and compliance.
It usually reduces or eliminates TiO₂ (or uses carbon black for gray product) and, in single-screw extrusion, a process aid is added.
Injection molding subjects the compound to very high shear in short times: it requires a lower molecular weight resin and a stabilizer that can withstand that process.

High-efficiency reverse-ester tin performs excellently in extrusion, but it degrades under the shear stress of fitting injection. Recommendation: Reserve RT-937 for extrusion and use RT-198 for injection molding of connections.
Ca/Zn lubricates in a comparable way, does not cause sulfur staining and does not transfer odor to the finished product; in addition, there is a growing trend towards CaZn due to the rise in the price of tin. Recommendation: The migration is done with a one-pack package, readjusting the external lubrication. We'll guide you through the conversion.
Modern tin reverse-esters perform all the stabilization with very low doses. Recommendation: Do not over-dose "for safety"; qualify the minimum dose that passes aging and NSF.
Recommendation: The problem usually lies in the throughput and melt temperature, not the dosage. We help you diagnose process and lubrication adjustments.
Recommendation: It's a surface defect related to the lubrication system; it can be resolved by rebalancing it. Contact us for a tune-up.
