OE-1016

Type: Oxidized Polyethylene Wax

Development / Applications

OE-1016 Wax is a low-density, oxidized polyethylene homopolymer wax, available in powder or microbead form. This wax is used as a lubricant, a release agent in rigid PVC processes, and as a dispersing agent in the preparation of color concentrates. It is an emulsifying wax for use in coatings, textiles, and inks. In the PVC pipe extrusion process, it helps improve surface finish and impart gloss. Due to its oxidation component, it has greater compatibility with the PVC matrix than a traditional polyethylene wax, although it does affect melting time. This wax has FDA approval for indirect food contact.
