Epoxidized Soybean Oil

Development / Applications

Epoxidized soybean oil is a widely used bio-derived plasticizer (of renewable origin) with low volatility, good thermal and light stability, and high oxirane content. It has good compatibility with PVC, a good plasticizing effect, good insulation, and good environmental stability. It is mainly used in rigid and flexible PVC products, such as leather, wire and cable, plastic film, pellets for medical products, food packaging materials, toys, hot and cold sealing, toner, color paste, footwear materials, flooring adhesive, etc. It can also be used in paints, inks, and other industrial applications. Its function is as a secondary plasticizer or co-stabilizer when used with our other thermal stabilizers.
Storage
This product should be stored at room temperature between 25°C and 30°C. Prolonged storage in cold places will cause the material to gel; this is easily remedied by warming the material and gently shaking it. Once opened, the drum must be tightly sealed.
The safety data sheet for this material is available upon request. Prolonged skin contact may cause irritation. Those handling this product should wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Wash exposed skin with soap and water.
