Antimony Trioxide

Type: Flame retardant

Development / Applications

Antimony trioxide is a highly effective flame retardant. Additionally, when used in conjunction with brominated, chlorinated, or borate compounds, it creates a synergistic effect, reducing flame time and ignition gas generation. When used for PVC-based cable sheathing, it can achieve the most demanding properties for high-voltage or THWN2 type cables. Combined with borate compounds, it can reduce gas emissions and also allows for a good LOI (Load of Ignition). It is a good additive for complying with UL 94 standards.
