AC-7000

Type: Azodicarbonamide (Blossoming Agent)

Development / Applications

AC-7000 is a foaming agent containing the AZO group in its chemical composition. It is used in various industries to reduce the density of plastic mixtures or parts. AC-7000 is a yellowish powder that releases a high volume of CO2 gas and has a high decomposition temperature of between 200°C and 210°C. It has a strong odor that is emitted after its reaction, although this dissipates over time. Its exothermic decomposition produces a mixture of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, and very small amounts of ammonium salts.Compared to other foaming agents, this material generates a significant amount of gas, provided a balance is found between its reaction temperature and residence time. It can be used on various plastics such as EVA, PVC, SBR, NBR, PE, and PP. Its use with a zinc-based activator or kicker is recommended to enhance its performance. It can also be mixed with other foaming agents for improved cell control.
