PVC Lubricants

Product Overview

General Description

This section contains our internal or polar lubricants with a PVC matrix, in contrast to the section of “Waxes and lubrication packs for PVC”These are external lubricants. This type of product is typically characterized by promoting melting in PVC and, therefore, improving the surface appearance of our products. Also, although not in all cases, this category of products is characterized by lowering the viscosity of the PVC melt, improving fluidity and thus extending thermal stability. It is used not only in suspension resins but also in emulsion resins where optimal release of gases or volatiles is desired. In the case of suspension PVC, some of these lubricants have limited application in rigid PVC because they significantly lower the deformation temperature of the produced parts.

Stearates

Its primary function is to serve as an internal lubricant in PVC due to its polarity. This material imparts a degree of opacity to products, which is why it is not found in transparent products. It promotes melting and is an excellent additive for injection molding processes due to its release properties. We offer economical grades based on their ash content, as well as specialty grades, such as those for applications requiring higher lubrication.

Zinc stearate is recommended in foaming applications when used with certain foaming agents.

Glyceryl Monostearate (MEG)

It is an internal lubricant in flake or powder form with excellent polarity that is suitable for PVC in transparent applications. It promotes melting, facilitates mass processing during the extrusion process, and provides excellent gloss.
It has easy integration into the PVC due to its good polarity.

MEG-40

MEG-40 is an emulsifying and diluting agent made from long-chain saturated fatty acids. It is soluble in mineral oils when heated, as well as in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether, and acetone. It can be used in the pharmaceutical industry in the formulation of different products (creams, oils and waxes), in the food industry it is used as an emulsifying agent, thickener, anti-caking agent, preservative. In PVC it is an excellent internal lubricant that reduces viscosity and promotes flow, without affecting transparency.

Glyceryl Monoleate (MOG)

It is a highly effective fatty acid ester for use in flexible PVC in combination with metallic salt stabilizers. It is recommended for flexible films where an anti-fog effect is required. It maintains transparency and reduces melt viscosity, extending downtime for cleaning.

MOG

MOG is recommended as an internal lubricant and antistatic agent in PVC, PE, and PP, and also as a clarifying and antiblocking agent in PVC film. For food packaging, its use is recommended at levels of 0.1 to 0.5 %MOG is used in the food industry as a food stabilizer; it is also used as an antifreeze agent in fuels, and to prevent rust formation when used as an additive in compound oil formulations.

Butyl Stearate – Adilub LPS

It's a liquid lubricant used in various industries to prevent the product from sticking to surfaces, in the case of PVC to promote the merger by being a internal lubricant. It promotes transparency, facilitates processing on your equipment, and helps to obtain a product with a good surface finish.

For pasta or PVC plastisol It's a great viscosity diluent which helps cure your mixture in your oven without generating bubbles.

Adilub LPS

ADILUB-LPS is an internal lubricant made from fatty acid esters, recommended for processing flexible and rigid PVC (with its limitations). This product reduces the initial viscosity of pastes (plastisol) and stabilizes their viscosity during storage. ADILUB-LPS has no effect on lightfastness and allows for the production of transparent materials. The recommended dosage is 0.5–1.0 phr, depending on the formulation. It has antistatic properties.
