Type: Plasticizer (Dioctyl Phthalate)

Development / Applications

DOP is a plasticizer used in PVC compounds and other polymers such as SBR, and is used in the footwear, plastic laminates and fabrics, plastisols, sealants, profiles, hoses, cable coatings, and automotive accessories industries, among others. It solvates PVC, thus providing flexibility to the finished products. It is one of the most common plasticizers in the PVC industry and is preferred for its ease of handling and easy adsorption during the mixing process.
Storage
This product should be stored at normal room temperature. Once opened, the packaging should be tightly resealed.
Safety data sheets for this material are available upon request. Prolonged skin contact may cause irritation. Those handling this product should wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Exposed skin should be washed with soap and water.
