K76 PVC resin

Development / Applications

PVC K76 resin is a medium molecular weight micro-suspension homopolymer. It is used to produce plastisols or pastes that exhibit low viscosity at low shear rates and slight expansion at high shear rates in formulations with low to medium plasticizer dosages (40–60 phr). Plastisol made from this polymer offers a high-clarity, high-gloss surface finish, low water absorption, good electrical resistance, good air release, and a low gel temperature. It also exhibits good thermal stability and lightfastness when used with various heat stabilizers, as well as good mechanical properties. When left to stand or with a long shelf life, its viscosity increase over time is low, as is its tendency to settle.These plastisols are suitable for solid spread coatings, especially transparent coatings with low plasticizer content and where high mechanical properties are required. Due to their low viscosity, they are ideal for all types of coatings and for rotational molding, dip coating, and casting processes. Some applications include synthetic leather, coated fabrics, boots, car armrests, and interior parts for motor vehicles requiring high resistance to mechanical wear.
Storage
This product should be stored at normal room temperature. Once opened, the packaging should be tightly resealed.
The safety data sheet for this material is available upon request. Prolonged skin contact may cause irritation. Those handling this product should wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Wash exposed skin with soap and water.
