Calcium Stearate

Development / Applications

Calcium stearate is pure and additive-free; its granular particle size typically presents no dispersion problems. It is a sliding agent with lubricating properties for polymer processes and is recommended for the production of woven fibers.Due to its hydrophobic properties, this product is recommended as a concrete additive. It can be used in PVC, PE-PP polyolefins, polyester, rubber, cosmetics, adhesives, paints, etc. In PVC, it acts as an internal lubricant, promoting fusion and resulting in an excellent surface finish. In injection molding, it is an excellent release agent.The recommended dosage is 0.05 – 0.5 % as a slip and 0.2 – 1.0 phr as a lubricant for PVC compounds depending on the compound in question.
Storage
This product should be stored at normal room temperature. Once opened, the packaging should be tightly resealed.
Safety data sheets for this material are available upon request. Prolonged skin contact may cause irritation. Those handling this product should wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Exposed skin should be washed with soap and water.
